IMPORTANT WORKSHOP FOR COLLEGES AND SCHOOLS INTERESTED IN STARTING PROGRAMS IN PHOTOVOLTAICS (SOLAR ELECTRICITY)

Fresno City College, ATTEi and State Center Consortium in collaboration with Hands On Solar, Inc. and The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), is offering a half day workshop on December 12, 2008 for schools in the Central San Joaquin Valley that are interested in starting programs in solar electricity (photovoltaics). The workshop will include information on the PV Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge that is offered by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), and steps to becoming a provider institution.

- Steps to setting up a photovoltaics instructional program
- Curriculum development
- Instructional resources
- Finding qualified instructors
- Setting up an appropriate learning environment
- Securing local support
- Establishing a job placement network
